By the rules of the genre, the plot of the musical is romantic and quite clear. One evening, an elderly Latin teacher, a misanthrope, a petty tyrant and a bore, called Raat, is chasing his students and accidentally enters a place with an unsavoury reputation – a port cabaret. There he meets a local star – singer Rosa Frohlich, called Lola, whom he considers a symbol of debauchery. But suddenly Raat becomes a regular of the cabaret and forgets about his role as guardian of morality. He, like many others, becomes a fatal victim of Lola's attractiveness…
